Welcome 2017!<\/p>\n
Happy New Year!<\/p>\n
Being a bit of an old fart, I had a bit of a lay-down in the early part of the evening. My plan was to read, but that turned into a nap, and now, I am wide awake. (Grrr…)<\/p>\n
However, I am using this time to start the year off on my best foot. I’m drinking tea, and I’ve spent some time writing my novel! (I’m struggling a bit with the section I’m working on – I haven’t quite hit on the character’s voice yet). I am also, obviously, writing a little blog entry. So, the year is starting off well.<\/p>\n
I have, clearly, not completed my first draft of my novel. But, I am still hopeful that I can complete the whole thing within 2017. (I am planning on self-publishing, so I think it’s realistic). To that end, highest on my goals for 2017 is to build in a daily writing habit. (I believe this will be tied to a tea-drinking habit as I think the ritual of making tea will prepare me mentally for writing – just a theory). Getting this book put to bed is the number one thing on my plate – well, aside from paying my mortgage!<\/p>\n
