Welcome!
You’ve found my corner of the net! I shall henceforth refer to it as my Nook.
I hope that you will find it to be a cozy little corner – expect tea, dragonflies, and a comfortable spot for a good read! As far as what else I’ll be stowing here, well, I have some ideas, but I guess we’ll discover them together, should you choose to settle in with me for a spell.
For some years now, I’ve had a strong sense of something being missing from my life, of not fulfilling my purpose, and of just having drifted about this adulthood business. My personal mission for 2016 has been to find a deeper meaning, and to follow that where it leads.
It did not lead where I thought it was going.
It turns out, I want to write fiction. I love reading – always have. I have also always enjoyed writing: school assignments, stories, and I always had a few “books” started as a child, though it must be stated that I never actually finished one! So, as I was introverting it up this winter, trying to sort out the missing pieces, I both was and wasn’t shocked to discover that my heart’s desire is to write.
Fair warning: I’m very much in the process of figuring out my voice and my message to the world at large. I am also unwilling to commit to a specific genre – my current project is in the realm of fantasy. I’m not sure what comes next, though I do have ideas!
My vision for the blog is very much still gelling in my own head. I expect I’ll talk about books and reading – I’d like to do some review or commentary on some recent books, probably devote a post to some of the more influential works and authors I’ve encountered over the years, obviously there will be progress reports and some promises regarding what I’ve got in the pipeline, and there may be a couple of other odds and sods. There will definitely be dragonfly talk!
Oh look! Here are some dragonfly pictures from my personal collection to start this blog off properly:

I just love dragonflies!
(I’ll stop myself there for today).
So, I invite you to make yourself comfortable and see where this journey goes!
I’m looking forward to the ride!
Seatbelt fastened,
Hatches battened,
Away we go!
Elizabeth.
